The name of the driver type in the system is: Net, and the drive type GUID is. I have a desktop workstation with an intel xeon 2.53ghz and 4gb of ddr3 ram, it has a broadcom netxtreme 57xx gigabit controller, and i have an Iomega home media drive, also a gigabit switch. This method is more effective than any others, and 100% correct.There are many other information items that you can use to find the driver version information and the required driver files. It finally fix with older version of this driver in my case it was Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller version 16.8.1.0.
Thanks for the info though, Ill do some looking around and see what I can find about it. Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller works (17.0.x) fine before upgrade. According to these two ID values, the matching driver information can be accurately found. I have a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller, but there is no reference to Jumbo Frames in any of its settings. These two ID values are unique and will not be duplicated with other hardware. My guess would be a faulty or damaged lan cable the same thing happened to me but it was connecting at 10 Mbps, I replaced it with another cat5E and the connection went to 1 Gbps. I would like to connect at gigabit speed to make best use of faster service. The huawei HG8245 is capable of 1 Gbps connections the manual states that it is autosense 10/100/1000 Mbps. Getting 40Mb Road Runner service tommorow.
